I don’t know why some people flock to computers and others will deny their very existence. I am in the business of converting businesses into a paperless environment, but to do that people have to believe that computers are helpful and not tools of the devil.
It seems to me that the generations are definitely split on this issue. At an Easter dinner yesterday I recommended that someone send me an email so that I could help her with choosing a health insurance program. She looked at me and said ” I don’t use the computer.” I finally said that she should ask her husband to do it.
Other people that I know will always print something before reading it, as they like to feel and touch what they are reading. I am sure as people realize the convenience of digital records this will change. Just as I am sure that people will see that the chances of a complete computer failure is not as likely as they think it is.
I feel they will come to understand that with proper backup systems, you data is safer stored on off site servers that in a warehouse with tons of paper files stored in it.
