I remember watching the movie “Wall Street” over twenty years ago and seeing Michael Douglas’ character Gordon Gekko walking on the beach and conducting business from this huge portable telephone. I thought that was fantastic that someone could do work from anywhere, little did I dream what the world would be doing today.
That large phone has morphed into a small hand held device known as a “Smart Phone”. With technology this device can now be turned into a dictation machine. You can now or soon will be able to talk to the phone and enter in medical, legal, financial data and more. The data will be transferred into the appropriate form or software application and stored as an electronic document.
Nuance has developed Dragon Medical Mobile Diction, Mobile Search and Mobile Recorder that can be used with the iPhone. The Medical Professional can team it up with EMR programs using Dragon Medical Mobile SDK(software development kits) . The patients information can be saved and the doctor can even send an eRx to the patients pharmacy.
Applied-InfoSystems is currently working with Cabinet NG to develop industry related applications that would work with Cabinet NG’s robust work flow program CNG-Safe. These programs would be very similar to the successful Quick Books intergration program developed by Cabinet NG.
Another feature that Applied-InfoSystems is offering, is the programs as a SAAS or software as a service. By doing this smaller businesses can get involved, since they pay a monthly fee and do not have to invest in expensive software programs.
